NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agents Union CWA Local 1182 Demonstrates Hands-On Leadership with First-Ever Thanksgiving Turkey to Deliveries to Union Members

New York, NY  — Last Thanksgiving season of 2025, CWA Local 1182 proudly launched its first-ever Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway, demonstrating strong leadership, compassion, and a deep commitment to its members by personally delivering turkeys to NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agents across New York City.

Unlike a traditional giveaway event, this initiative was carried out directly by union leadership. Members of CWA Local 1182 — led by President Alexander Sadik — personally traveled to NYPD commands throughout the city to deliver Thanksgiving turkeys to active union members. In addition, union leadership made home deliveries to members who are currently out on leave, ensuring that every member felt supported and remembered during the holiday season.

The hands-on effort reflects the union’s mission to lead from the front and provide meaningful, direct support to its membership. By showing up in person, President Sadik and union representatives reinforced that CWA Local 1182 is not just an organization, but a dedicated leadership team actively working to care for NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agents and their families.“Our members give so much to this city every single day,” said President Alexander Sadik. “Whether they are working their posts or temporarily out on leave, they are part of our union family. Personally delivering these turkeys was important to us because it shows that our union stands with every member.”

NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agents play a vital role in keeping New York City safe and moving, often working long hours in challenging conditions. The Thanksgiving turkey deliveries served as a gesture of appreciation for that dedication while also helping ease some of the financial pressures many families experience during the holiday season. Union members expressed appreciation not only for the turkeys, but for the personal involvement of union leadership. Seeing President Sadik and union representatives at commands and at members’ homes sent a strong message of unity, accessibility, and care — reinforcing trust and strengthening the bond between leadership and membership.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by CWA Local 1182 to expand member-focused programs and demonstrate visible, engaged leadership. The Thanksgiving turkey deliveries reflect the union’s continued commitment to supporting members both on and off the job, while fostering a culture of solidarity and mutual respect. Union leadership confirmed that this Thanksgiving initiative will not be a one-time effort. Moving forward, CWA Local 1182 plans to make the turkey giveaway an annual tradition, continuing to support members and their families year after year.“At the end of the day, leadership means showing up for your people,” President Sadik added. “This Thanksgiving was just the beginning, and we are committed to continuing this tradition for years to come.”

Through this first-ever Thanksgiving turkey delivery initiative, CWA Local 1182 reaffirmed its role as a strong, caring, and proactive union — dedicated to serving NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agents and giving back to the New York City community it proudly represents.
